We encourage, uplift, educate organists and other musicians.

Our mission is to provide continuing education and events for musicians and organists within the Maryland area.

A message from the Dean:

Chapter Members and Friends,

Welcome one and all who are visiting our website either for the first time or returning. I am honored to serve as Dean of the Potomac Chapter and to work with a collegial board to bring programming and events that enrich our experiences as musicians and that provide outreach to the community-at-large.  The Potomac Chapter has always been a crucial part of my own development through my beginning as a recipient in the Potomac Organ Institute, serving in different roles on the Executive Committee, participating in so many different educational activities, and through the support and friendship of so many of our Chapter Members.

Most recently, I served as Sub-Dean for the Potomac Chapter. I was delighted to work with such a collegial Executive Committee on providing diverse programming that was inclusive of all styles and genres, pipe and hybrid/digital instruments, for church and non-church employment, young and seasoned, and everything between. What I have loved the most is watching our relationships continue to grow while we all learn from each other. When we participate in events that bring us all together, we all benefit, as we can draw from a wide breadth of knowledge and experience. Our Members are from all over Prince George’s and Montgomery Counties, Washington DC, Northern Virginia, Baltimore, even out to Frederick, MD. Some of us teach or have taught in schools, universities, work for churches, synagogues, theatres, music stores, while some just play the organ as a hobby. Everyone has a place here in the Potomac Chapter.

It is my hope to continue offering engaging events and programs that appeal to a wide variety of people and interests, and continue the legacy of all our past Deans in promoting the organ and fostering new and young organists.  If you are not yet a Chapter Member and wish to join, please visit www.agohq.org to join us!  We gladly welcome all to our Chapter, with absolutely no prerequisites! Our Executive Committee and I are always delighted to meet you at an event or even for a cup of coffee.

Sincerely,
Adam Scott Graham, Chapter Dean
